Several of you are probably only just now finding the Month of Letters Challenge. Β Hello and welcome! Now, the challenge is to mail something every day the post goes in February. So what do you do if you’ve already missed days? First, understand the purpose of the challenge, which is to connect with other people tangibly and to, hopefully, get into the rhythm of sending mail regularly.
With that in mind, there are two different ways to join in, depending on which suits your temperment.
1. Use the non-mail days to catch up. In the U.S. the post doesn’t run on Sundays or holidays. That gives you five days to use.
2. Decide that you are going to send mail every day for a month, starting today. So if it is February 6th, then you would try to send mail daily until March 5th.
Simple, eh? And remember, it does not have to be a letter, nor do you have to write to 24 different people. Give it a try, I think you’ll enjoy it.
Those of you who have been in it since the beginning, tell us how it’s going. Are you having fun?
I’m having a great time and am so appreciative of the Month of Letters calendar. I used it to plan out my first week’s worth of letters and it’s kept me on track so far. I’m also excited knowing that my Day 1 letter, which was a very one-of-a-kind handmade birthday collage card, should have arrived today. π
I am having fun. Yesterday I wrote to my godfather, who is a very analog sort of person and I know it will mean a lot to him. I sent him part of a “ballad” I wrote, inspired by his knighting a friend of mine with a skillet at a Ren Faire.
I wrote four cards to catch up last night and put them in the mailbox today. The mail doesn’t send on Saturdays over here, but for me it’s more the exercise of writing every day that counts. Also posted a blog post to try and lure some of my friends here π
Hi, I am a postcrosser and joined two monthly RRs on the PC forum, international and Russian, so there’s a lot to write anyway, but this challenge has encouraged me to write letters to my friends and relatives with whom I usually talk on the phone. Great! I have printed the participant stamps and will use them on my postcrossing cards and all other mail I will send to promote this great idea. π
I did actually start on time as I had heard about the challenge via twitter but only got around to signing up today. Fingers crossed for the rest of the month. I hope to post to a few friends who normally receive emails.
I LOVE this idea! You’ve inspired me! I’ll be passing this on to several people that I know would love it too. Thanks!
I can’t wait to write my first letter tonight. This is such a wonderful idea!
I am starting late but am so happy to be part of the write every day for a month. I have several people I havent written in awhile so its a good time to catch up with them too. I love to write letters more than email.
I am having great fun with this and reconnecting with people the old fashioned way.
